Got symptoms of norovirus? Feeling sick, diarrhoae, being sick
What is norovirus?

Norovirus is a stomach bug that causes diarrhoea and vomiting. It usually lasts about 2 days.

Symptoms
  • feeling sick (nausea)

  • diarrhoea

  • being sick (vomiting)

You may also have:
  • a high temperature

  • a headache

  • aching arms and legs

How might I catch it?
  • close contact with someone with norovirus

  • touching surfaces or objects that have the virus on them, then touching your mouth

  • eating food that's been prepared or handled by someone with norovirus

What to do if you catch it?

If you catch norovirus, it’s important to rest and have plenty of fluids. You should stay at home until two days after your symptoms stop and wash your hands to prevent the spread of infection.
