The NHS in Mid and South Essex has shared some helpful advice to keep you and your loved ones healthy this winter, including taking some action now so you are prepared.
Get vaccinated:
Are you and your family up to date with your flu, COVID-19, and RSV vaccines if you are eligible?
Self-care:
Do you have the right medicine stocked at home, ready for you to use if needed? Do you know where your local pharmacist is? Pharmacists can give advice and treatment without an appointment and may even be able to provide prescription medication through the Pharmacy First scheme, saving you a trip to the GP.
Looking after your mental health and boosting your immune system:
Winter can affect your mental wellbeing, so it’s important to stay connected, active, and mindful. A balanced diet and regular exercise are key to boosting your immune system, and don’t forget to stay hydrated, even during the colder months.
Prevent falls:
If you or someone you care for is older, take steps to prevent falls this winter.
