Would you like to become a Community Connector?

The COPD Community Connectors Programme is a volunteering opportunity for people living in Southend who have COPD or care for someone with COPD. They are people who want to help improve care services and reduce health inequalities so that everyone can live well together.


Aims of Community Connectors

· To share knowledge, learning experiences and stories from the local area

· To inform and influence service providers

· Share information

· Build relationships with service providers


Reasons to get involved

· Training workshops

· Coaching Support

· Access to Advisory Group

· Make friends

· Learn new skills

· Reduce isolation

· Impress yourself


Sharing lived experience and shaping services.

The Community Connectors programme is designed to gain a deeper understanding of the lived experience of those living with COPD when accessing support and living a healthier life. It is also an opportunity to share what works well.


This programme forms part of the national drive to reduce health inequalities focusing on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). It is being delivered jointly by Healthwatch Southend and SAVS.
