There are two bank holidays coming up this month - Monday 6 and Monday 27 May. Have you ordered your prescriptions in advance and know where to get the right care if you need it over the long weekends?
Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS) has shared the following advice.
If you are visiting family, don't forget to pack any medication you will require. Many GP surgeries also require 72 hours' notice for repeat prescription requests, so make sure to do this in advance.
If you become unwell over the bank holiday weekend, remember that your local pharmacist can help with many conditions, or will be able to signpost you to other local services that can help.
Pharmacies can help with an array of conditions, including:
· earache (for those aged between 1 and 17),
· impetigo
· infected insect bites
· shingles
· sinusitis
· sore throat
· urinary tract infections (UTIs) for women aged 16-64 years
